Violet

Violets have long been my favorite spring wildflower. I can remember, one spring, when I was a child, my Dad was in the part of our property that we called "up in the back". This was the area that was next to the "woods" and actually was up a slight grade. (I must say the grade seemed a lot larger then & was a good place to come flying down on a bike or sled!) Anyhow, my Dad was up there for quite a while. When he came down he had picked a very large bouquet of violets for Mom. The time & patience that took! What a loving gesture. As spring progresses, I know a place near my home that harbors large violets, both white & violet in color. I will explore that area in the near future, to see what I can capture & share.
