Balanced Duck

I watched this duck for quite awhile to be sure he didn't have another leg tucked under there! Excellent balance!

Swan

I love to see the swans gracefully floating on the lake at Hagerstown City Park. I watched this one for quite some time to get a couple shots of him resting ont his tiny island. A bit of blown white, but other wise I find both pleasing.

Hope you have a lovely Easter however you celebrate.

Madyson at City Park

I am off all this week & had promised Madyson we would go somewhere one day so she could sit in her "pretty pink car seat". We went to city park in Hagerstown to feed the waterfowl & to take pictures. A goose nipped her, that took care of any feeding for her...I finished. The geese are every bit as tall as she is, I doubt that I could be convinced to feed anything my height, especially the way they grabbed. (Andy tried to fed the geese & ducks corn during one visit - they had no clue what it was. Definitely city dwellers!) She picked some roses, then wanted to find the playground, since we were in a park there had to be one. So we ventured to the other side of the park. One can not image the positions a 3 year old can manage on swings! She climbed what could be climbed & ran everywhere. I ask her to sit on a wall so I could take a "nice picture" of her. It took some time & many shots to climb the steps & try sitting anywhere one could sit...except the wall. Finally she found the perfect spot & sit for 1 shot. Then immediately was back to movement! Didn't get the shots I had thought about, but sure got some fun ones on a fun afternoon.

"Sit still & smile, please". Gotta love those little teeth.

There were ladders & ramps leading to the slides, of course she chose this route!

Good Friday's Shoppping Trip

Good Friday was a day off work, so I saved my Easter shopping for that day. As usual I started out the day excited. It was a beautiful, warm day. I was heading it the mall, a variety of other stores with money in my pocket for Easter goodies! As usual, about 3 hours into my trip I had enough. My mind is a shopper, but my body just doesn't cooperate! I was hot & those arthritic parts were quite painful. We had Easter baskets to fill & this was the last chance so I moved on. Had a good lunch, then finished the day at Walmart. After dragging myself to the car, a coffee drink was sounding good. So, I got some caffeinated refreshment & headed for City Park. Of course, I never leave home without a camera & had some daylight left to capture some swan shots. Imagine my delight when I found myself surrounded with tree blossoms. A gorgeous pink & white world!
The magnolia trees were amazing! Just loaded with blossoms. One of my Mom's favorites.
Needless to say I have quite a collection of magnolia blossom images.
A bit of color on the ground. For some reason I have trouble finding a shot I like of these luscious smelling beauties, so this will have to do for now!
After enjoying iced coffee & a good hour & half of spring colors, I was able to make a relaxed 45 minute trip home. You know, as I sit at my computer tonight thinking of the stores I visited & then ending the day at the park, both places were filled with children - crying & shouting in the stores, then delighted squeals of laughter while playing in the park. I agree with the little ones!
