Ocean Isle Beach

June started out CRAZY but ended on a lovely note with a trip to Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina to join Mom, a couple sisters, their families, & even a brother, for a week of fun & sun. We all stayed in a rented beach house, which helps with the expense a whole bunch, especially with food, since we can cook our own. Of course, I had the camera handy & got some nice shots, which I will share here as time goes on. My drive home was interesting. I visited a gift shop further south, then set my GPS destination to Winchester, VA. It took me through some interesting NC county roads. Got to look over local scenery & crops. Tobacco was reaching for the sky, ready to blossom. Corn was in tassel, even being picked - here in southern PA we plan on "knee high by the 4th of July". Blueberries were everywhere. Yum, my favorite! The Canon was on the seat beside me, but if I had stopped to take the shots I seen, I'd probably not be home yet!

I have many images to process & share on here, vacation & otherwise. So hopefully I can get myself back to normal (whatever that is) with regular posts.

This is a family shot taken on the beach. Keep in mind this is not even half of us!

My Birthday

My family made my birthday special this year. They organized a suprise party for me on Saturday. All my children, my grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, (one daughter-in-law had to work - darn), a son-in-law, my husband, one fo my stepdaughter's, my mother-in-law & father-in-law were around to help me celebrate a day I thought they all forgot! We enjoyed a lovely outdoor picnic supper, I was presented with a BIG, YUMMY, new york strip steak grilled just the way I like it. Three cake choices & ice cream finished off the meal. The babies ran around, even a few adults ran around. Kimberly demonstated some cheerleading moves, that she has not done for awhile, for Trinity. I would imagine a Tylenol or 2 were needed when she got home. Mady appointed herself boss baby, but 'til the end of the evening she actually allowed Nolan to touch her hair, even give her a kiss & hug. I can't believe I was so much involved in the festivites that I forgot to take many pictures! I am going to share two that I thought turned out pretty good. I will introduce you to my oldest son, Joe & my youngest son, Caleb discussing "serious matters". Of course thru these words & pictures you have already met Levi. Notice how he has grown!! Thanks for the specail day everyone.

A month later.................

It's been awhile since I posted & what a busy time! Spent a week at a beautiful beach in southern North Carolina. What a treat! Vacation was with my rather large family - I think I mentioned before there are 10 of us. My brothers were not able to join us because of work obligations, but my sister-in-laws & children were present. Mom went along too. This 80 year old was looking for people to go to the beach at 6 AM on most mornings! I had lots of time for reading & photography since I had no household chores to perform. We rented a rather large beach house & the rest of the family graciously cooked & did dishes. Unfortunately real life returns with it's ratrace of job, bills, & household chores. Please enjoy some photos while I remember.
